One person has died following a crash on State Highway 5 near Tapapa, just north of Putāruru, yesterday morning.
Police were called to the two-vehicle crash at 6.05am on Thursday.
One person died in hospital as a result of their injuries.
The Serious Crash Unit attended and were investigating the crash.
Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or had dashcam footage of a silver Ford Ranger or green Toyota Vitz in the area prior to the crash.

Another fatal crash also occurred in the area on Wednesday evening.
One person died in the crash near Somerville Rd, also in Tapapa.
"Despite the efforts of those first at the scene, the sole occupant was unable to be revived," said a police spokesperson.
