A man has been seriously injured after being shot in Feilding this afternoon.

Police said officers were called to a home on Collins Cres around 4.15pm today.

"A man suffered what appears to be a gunshot wound and has been transported to hospital in a serious condition," a police spokesperson said.

Officers investigating the circumstances behind the man's injuries believe he was shot at another location within Feilding.

"At this stage, no specific concerns are held for the wider public and residents can expect to see a continued police presence in the Feilding area as officers undertake further inquiries.

"Anyone with information in relation to this incident is encouraged to contact police with that information."
