A "dangerous" man is being sought by police following an investigation into an alleged kidnapping in Auckland's Beach Haven on Tuesday night.
Arrest warrants have been issued for Ralph Park, 25, of Auckland.
Three people in a car allegedly arrived at a residential property on Sunnyhaven Ave, on Auckland's North Shore, just before 7.30pm on April 2.
Two people have already been charged in relation to the incident.
A 32-year-old man appeared in the North Shore District Court yesterday on charges of kidnapping and using a shotgun to commit a burglary.
A 28-year-old woman appeared in the Auckland District Court yesterday on three charges relating to methamphetamine and failing to carry out police obligations.
Detective Inspector Callum McNeill of Waitematā CIB said officers have undertaken "a number of inquiries to locate Park so far, including search warrants in the Auckland area".
Park "may be trying to seek medical attention after being shot for an injury he sustained while the offending took place on Tuesday night", he said.
"We believe Park was shot — either by his own achievements or accidentally by his accomplice.
"This has come to light during the investigation this week, including reviewing CCTV footage and forensically examining the vehicle involved in the kidnapping."
Police are making inquiries to locate Park, including checking healthcare facilities.
"It's not uncommon in these situations where people evading accountability try to use a false name," McNeill said.
"While I can't go into details around the specifics of our enquiries, we are absolutely committed to locating and arresting him."
Park is described as being 166cm tall and is of thin build.
Anyone who sees Park should call police on 111 immediately.
"You should consider him dangerous, and we advise that you do not approach him."
