A track issue issue near Auckland's Britomart station has meant some Western line services are cancelled ahead of morning rush hour.
Auckland Transport announced the disruption in a travel alert on its app at about 5.40am.
"Due to a Kiwirail track infrastructure issue near Britomart, all Western line services have been cancelled between Britomart-Newmarket until further notice," the alert read. "Scheduled buses are accepting rail tickets and AT hop cards on the Western line."
A status update on the Auckland Transport website also confirmed the issue.
Trains into the city on the Western line were terminating at Newmarket, the status report said, adding customers could transfer to the Southern line service between Newmarket and Britomart.
It has been a troubled start to the year with frequent disruptions to the Auckland rail network.
