Australian surfing great Mick Fanning is mourning the death of a third brother.
Edward died in Madagascar where he was involved with a surf tour camp.
Fanning had previously lost Sean, who died aged just 17 in a car crash in 1998, and Peter in 2015.
Posting to Instagram, Mick said Edward had introduced the family to surfing, "the joy and freedom of riding a wave".
"Love you my brother. You taught me so much over the years about everything that life could deal up. The good and the bad you were my teacher."
Mick said Edward, who was aged in his 40s, "had the biggest heart" and was always sticking up for the underdog.
"You gave everyone everything you had, and if you didn't have it you'd still give it to them. You made your friends feel like super heroes and gave so many people the funniest memories that will last a life time."
