Fire crews sent to blaze in central Auckland suburb of Māngere

Fire has lit up the sky over the central Auckland suburb of Māngere tonight.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand said it received calls at 8.40pm "to an unknown fire" somewhere near Mahunga Drive.

"They arrived at the scene [and] smoke was showing from behind a building," a FENZ spokesperson said.

"On investigation, they found 10 pellets of freight on fire.

"Two crews are in attendance to extinguish the fire."
