A Perth stripper who shut down part of the city's CBD after his outfit sparked a police operation has been fined $543 as a two-year court battle came to an end.
Chad Satchell was preparing to perform for a group of women on a party bus in August 2022, but before he could begin, he had sparked a lockdown, 9News reports.
He was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon – a gel blaster which was a prop – and being armed with intent to cause fear.
He was found guilty of weapon possession but not the second charge, 9News reports.
"It may have been a different scenario if he was pretending to hold up the party bus," Magistrate Sarah Oliver said.
"He relatively discretely moved the item without constituting any threat to any person."
He was awarded costs for his acquittal on the intent to cause fear charge.
Satchell, whose wife is pregnant, has hung up his outfits for good and is employed as a fly-in fly-out worker.
