Police have announced a $100,000 reward for anyone with information relating to the disappearance of Marlborough woman Jessica Boyce in 2019.

On Monday police encouraged people to watch the Cold Case programme on TVNZ where "new information" about the case would be revealed.

"Tonight, the New Zealand police are announcing a $100,000 reward for material information or evidence, which leads to the identity and conviction of any person or persons responsible for Jessica's disappearance," the programme narrator said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Ciaran Sloan said he had spoken directly to the persons of interest and that they "know who they are".

"Some of them have been cooperative, some of them have just lied," he said.

"The time is right now for people within this person of interest group to decide. Do they want to be a witness, or do they want to be in the dock?"

Police said some persons of interest were "suffering" and that there were "a number of mums" within the group.

"And I can't help but think, what would those people want for their daughter in the same circumstances?" said Sloan.

Speaking about the new information, police said they believe they're "closer than ever" to getting answers.

Police said securing phone records was a "vital turning point" that pointed the investigation towards one group and allowed the team to further examine conversations between this key group and Boyce.

"That program has over a million events. And amongst those events, there have been a number of evidentially important conversations identified between our persons of interest," Sloan said.

Police said several texts and calls tie these people to both the meth scene and the timings around Boyce's disappearance.

"Some people are quite haunted by what's happened," he said.

The reward will remain available until September 19, and "the Commissioner of Police will determine the amount of the reward and will apportion it if there is more than one claimant".

Any accomplice "not being a principal offender who gives such information or evidence to police" could also be considered immune from prosecution.

Anyone holding onto relevant information or knowledge of Boyce's disappearance is urged to contact the investigation team on 0800 COLD CASE (0800 2653 2273).
