Matt Cairns, Surf Life Saving New Zealand national events manager praised the dominance of the Mount Maunganui team.
"This year, we saw fantastic racing across all age groups, but there can only be one winner. Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service consistently proves to be a force to be reckoned with, and this year was no exception."
Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service team member India-Rose Scholes won the U15 Female age group with gold medals in the Diamond Race and Run Swim Run, and Jayden Murphy won his first Open Ironman title, Surf Life Saving New Zealand said.
The next Surf Life Saving competitions in New Zealand would be the BP Surf Rescue New Zealand IRB Championships, held in Waikouaiti, North Dunedin, from March 23-24 before the the Lifesaving World Championships, held in Australia, from August 20-September 8.
