Time Out has named a Melbourne street "the coolest in the world" for 2024.
The title has gone to High Street in the city's inner north and running through the suburbs of Northcote, Thornbury and Preston.
The global publisher said: "High Street’s bona fide cool status comes down to its unique, something-for-everyone local businesses.
"Craving authentic Portuguese tarts? Head to Casa Nata. Want to sip a local natty vino? Make a beeline for Northside Wines. Got the urge for a late-night boogie? Hit up Francesca’s Bar.
"It’s a strip where vintage stores and cool cafés sit comfortably alongside a food truck park and boutique indie cinema.
"We hate to be clichéd and say there’s something for everyone on High Street, but in this case it’s true."

Earlier this year, a Washington Post travel guide labelled Auckland's Karangahape Rd as one the "most interesting places to visit". The city-fringe thoroughfare made the Time Out top 10 coolest list in 2022, taking sixth place.
