Police are investigating the "unexplained death" of a person in Tasman.
The body was found at a rural property on Pigville Rd, south of the Tākaka township, at around 4pm yesterday.
Police said they would remain at the scene overnight as they carried out a scene examination and further enquiries.
A post mortem examination would be completed in the next few days, and a formal identification was yet to take place.
It was the third unexplained death reported in 24 hours after the death of a man at a Hastings motel and a body found wrapped in plastic at Gulf Harbour, north of Auckland.
