The search for a missing diver, who failed to return to their vessel off the South Taranaki Coast on March 10, continues today.

The Police National Dive Squad and Coastguard volunteers from Taranaki, Whanganui and Manawatū will be helping, following assistance yesterday from Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Trust and the New Zealand Defence Force, who conducted aerial searches.

The Coastguard South Taranaki "conducted an extensive search of the Patea coastline" yesterday, police said.

Police have thanked those who have helped with the search so far, and "want to thank the community for the support it has offered to the missing person’s whānau, and police".

Members of the public with any information that can help are urged to contact police on 105.
