Grammy nominated artist Hozier has announced he will be making a return to New Zealand and Australia for the first time since 2019.
The Irish singer-songwriter and his band will be doing two shows in New Zealand, with Auckland's Spark arena seeing the hitmaker on Wednesday November 20, before he performs at Wolfbrook Arena in Christchurch on Friday November 22.
American singer-songwriter Joy Oladokun will be performing as the opening act.
Hozier is partway through his Unreal Unearth tour following the release of the album of the same name in August 2023.
The award-winning multi-platinum artist sent waves across social media yesterday when he posted a video on X with the caption "It’s been a long time" alongside a New Zealand flag and Australian flag emojis.
He then announced today he is returning to these shores, saying he is "excited to be back that side of the world to play these songs for you live".
He will be playing seven shows in Australia prior before jumping the ditch: One show each in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, as well as playing at two festivals.
Hozier, born Andrew John Hozier-Byrne, rose to fame in 2013 following the release of his debut single, Take Me To Church. The song was nominated for Song of the Year in the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards and went multi-platinum in 20 countries, including 7x Platinum in New Zealand.
The song was dominated the Irish charts staying at the number-one spot for nine consecutive weeks, and debuted at the number 2 spot in Australia and New Zealand.
Tickets for the concert go on sale on Monday March 18, 12pm.
