Kiwi skier Sean Toms has managed to escape uninjured after falling into a hidden waterfall in Japan.
He was coming down the slopes of Hokkaido when he suddenly plunged into a six-metre hole on March 5.
Toms' terror as he became surrounded by rushing water was caught on his GoPro.
The footage was posted today on the skier's Instagram, captioned "how not to ski the Hokkaido backcountry".
"Super lucky to walk away from this one with no injuries. Great learning on the unique hazards that Japan has to offer. At least the water was warm," he wrote.
Toms managed to pull himself out following the incident.
