Six Indian nationals have been arrested at Bangkok's international airport for attempting to smuggle 87 animals out of the country, Thai customs officials say.
A red panda, snakes, parrots, monitor lizards and monkeys were among those seized at Suvarnabhumi Airport, having allegedly been discovered in the passengers' luggage as they were set to fly to Mumbai.
The six suspects face a maximum 10 years imprisonment.
Photos released from the customs department show the animals stuffed inside small containers, baskets and cloth bags.
All of the animals are on the protected list of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
