The cost of Netflix and chilling has become more expensive.
Netflix is raising their subscription prices in New Zealand, a spokesperson has confirmed to 1News.
It is the first price increase on the streaming platform for Kiwis since 2021.
Netflix said the platform raised the prices as the company is delivering more value to their members.
"We offer a range of prices and plans to meet a wide range of needs, and as we deliver more value to our members, we occasionally ask them to pay a bit more.
"Starting today, we’re adjusting prices in New Zealand with plans starting at $14.99 NZD."
The price for a basic Netflix membership was previously $12.99 NZD.
The standard subscription will go from $18.49 NZD to $20.99 NZD. The premium offer will go from $24.99 NZD to $27.99 NZD.
Netflix said existing members will be notified by email 30 days before the new prices are applied to the user, with the exact timing depending on the member's billing cycle.
