The vocalist of US pop-punk band Blink-182, has been filmed saying "f*** Christchurch" at a show in Melbourne.
The comments come after the band cancelled their show in Christchurch, just two weeks before it was set to take place.
In the video posted to TikTok, bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus rips into the city – and its name – during some banter between songs.
"To be honest, Sydney sucked so f****ng bad we had to cancel Christchurch," he said.
"F*** Christchurch.
"It’s a gnarly name for a town, could you imagine naming your city that?
"If I were god."
Christchurch councillor Andrei Moore posted to Facebook, saying he was "disappointed" the singer said what he did.
"Disappointing to learn of Blink-182 saying 'f*** Christchurch' on stage in Melbourne after cancelling their sold-out show that many Christchurch folk and visitors bought tickets for 18 months in advance.
"We’ve been through more than our fair share of challenges over the years, which have led to many concert cancellations, but I can’t ever recall any of them being followed up with an attitude as bad as this one," Moore said.
The show, which was to be held at WolfBrook Arena, was called off last week as fans were getting ready for the band’s arrival.
"Unfortunately, the Blink-182 Christchurch performance has been cancelled due to unanticipated logistical issues outside of the band’s control," fans were emailed.
"Event organisers join the band and fans in being very disappointed and regret any inconvenience that this cancellation has caused."
The band is known for their early 2000s hits such as All the Small Things, and their critically acclaimed album Enema of the State.
