A 20-year-old man's appeared in court charged with dangerous driving causing death after a teenager was killed on Auckland's Muriwai Beach last month.
The man entered no pleas today and was remanded on bail.
He was granted interim name suppression and will be required to enter a plea when he reappears in court on March 14.
Madison Marie Chamberlain, 19, died after the ute rolled on the beach on January 21.
Two others sustained serious injuries.
Police laid the charge of dangerous driving causing death last week, saying Madison's death has had a "profound impact for her family and loved ones".
The incident sparked calls for a vehicle ban on the popular beach from some locals.
