Batches of Gluten Freedom brand breads are being recalled due to the possible presence of plastic.
The products being recalled are Broken Black Rice & Polenta Sourdough, Splendid Sourdough English Muffins and Everything Sourdough Bagels.
Venerdi Limited, which owned the Gluten Freedom brand, said it was recalling the products as they may contain foreign plastic matter.
"There have been no reports of injury. However, if you have consumed these products and have any concerns about your health, seek medical advice," the recall stated.
Ministry of Primary Industries said the products were sold in supermarkets and retail outlets throughout New Zealand as well as exported to Australia.
Customers were advised to check the best-before date printed on the packaging and couldn return affected products to the place of purchase for a refund.
A full list of recalled products included:
- Gluten Freedom Broken Black Rice & Polenta Sourdough- Best Before December 19, 2023 up to and including March 11, 2024
- Gluten Freedom Everything Sourdough Bagels- Best Before December 25, 2023 up to and including March 4, 2024
- Gluten Freedom Splendid Sourdough English Muffins- Best Before December 20, 2023 up to and including March 5, 2024.
