Watch: Chopper footage shows scale of Port Hills fire

Helicopter footage shows the scale of damage done by the Christchurch Port Hills fire as crews continue to battle the blaze.

One segment of the clip shows a large amount of smoke being emitted from the hills.

Another shows dark, burned ground surrounding roads in the area.

While there are no reports of properties being lost, FENZ has not yet declared the fire contained.

Close to 30 crews have been battling the fire on the ground, supported by over a dozen helicopters and planes.

Earlier today the area affected was around 630ha.
