After sold-out shows across the globe, Taylor Swift is coming to our part of the world.

While she's not playing in New Zealand, some Kiwis are still getting in on the action — including a very excited mother and daughter.

The superstar is playing seven shows in Australia, with three in Melbourne and four in Sydney.

Jen and eight-year-old Emily Taylor from Palmerston North were lucky enough to get seats at one of Swift's Melbourne shows.

"There was a lack of sleep last night, that's for sure," Jen told Breakfast from Auckland Airport this morning.

"It's Emily's birthday next week, so it was either Sydney – we missed out on Sydney tickets – because it would've been playing on her birthday, but we managed to get Melbourne tickets.

"So really, really thankful for that."

Emily said she thought it was the best birthday present she'd ever get and showed off her friendship bracelets, a signature piece of Swiftie style.

"Some of them were from my pen pal Harper from down in Christchurch, and some of them I made," she said.

Emily plans to swap some with other fans at the concert.

Jen admitted it was "pretty difficult" to get the tickets. Massive demand on both sides of the ditch saw a lot of Swifties miss out.

"My whole team was on the computer trying to get tickets," she said. "So we're pretty stoked that we got them.

"But it was actually a good friend of mine in Melbourne that ended up getting them, not us, we weren't successful... It was a mission."

Jen's company Taylored Mortgages has made a special tribute to the ticket success story.

"We've actually changed the brand of our business for the week as well to Taylor Swift Mortgages," she laughed.
