Hundreds of people remain without power after a transformer fire in Auckland's Flat Bush, which led authorities to warn neighbouring residents to stay indoors.
A street was earlier cordoned off, around the intersection of Chapel and Ormiston Road. Lanes were re-opened at around 2.30pm.

According to a reporter at the scene, the fire next to a group of shops has been extinguished with the remains of the transformer left heavily charred and cordoned off.
Emergency services were initially called to the fire just before 1pm. Police earlier said there were reports of a "group of shops on fire, along with a transformer".

"Due to the air quality, residents are advised to close their windows and doors and stay inside," police said earlier this afternoon.
Vector's outage map indicates a fault was reported at around 12.35pm.
Shortly before 3pm, police lifted restrictions, thanking residents and motorists for their co-operation.
As of 3pm, a large swathe of area between the suburbs of Dannemora and Clover Park still appear to be without electricity.
Around 3.20pm, Vector said most customers had electricity restored. "Ouur crews are working to restore those who are still without power," a spokesperson told 1News.
