A man has been arrested after a woman was allegedly assaulted and then robbed during her morning run in an Auckland reserve last month.
Police said the woman had been followed into Ōtara Creek Reserve on January 18. She was allegedly dragged to the ground before her phone and bank cards were taken.
She had earlier noticed a man walking towards her on East Tamaki Rd.
The woman was physically unharmed in the incident, police earlier said, as they called for sightings of a man who had been captured on CCTV in the area.
Detective Sergeant James Mapp of the Counties Manukau East Criminal Investigation Branch said today a 31-year-old man had been found by police.
"The man was arrested and appeared in the Manukau District Court over the weekend," Mapp said.
"Police have charged the man with robbery and indecent assault as a result of our inquiries."
He is expected to reappear in court tomorrow.
