Bottles of bourbon signed by famous rock groups have been stolen in a daylight robbery from an Auckland bar – and the owners are keen to track them down.
Ding Dong Lounge is a “premier rock bar” located in Auckland CBD. It is a place where some visiting rock stars mingle with fans, and sometimes sign a bottle as a memento on their way out.
Lauren Went who does the marketing for the bar told Breakfast some of the stolen Jim Beam bottles include signatures from Disturbed, Steel Panther, Halestorm, Misfits and hip-hop group House of Pain.
“It sounds like [the robbery] was done in broad daylight which is very disappointing… We understand there may be three people involved.
“[They] smashed through one of our cabinets. It seems like it was quite targeted as if they have been there before so it just adds an element of violation in there.”
Went describes the collection as something “anyone would want to have their hands on”.
“We [have footage] and are getting more information come through and asking if anyone has seen or heard anything.”
“If you see some Jim Beam bottles signed by some of the world’s best artists, they’re ours, and we really want them back.”
