A mother-daughter duo are behind bars in Tennessee after allegedly attacking their husband and father with a frying pan, according to local authorities.

The incident took place in Ashland City, Tennessee just outside of Nashville on January 27 when the man awoke to his daughter above him, hitting him in the head with a cast iron frying pan following his proclamation that he wanted a divorce from her mother.

Officers' body camera footage capture the aftermath of the attack, showing the man bleeding profusely with two gashes to his head after he managed to escape to his neighbour's house and alert authorities.

The man's wife, Pam Davis, 62, and daughter, Kelly Davis, 29, are both facing attempted murder charges over the assault.

The Cheatham County Sheriff's Office said after beating him with the frying pan, his daughter got on top of him with a knife while the man's wife took a belt, placed it around his neck and started pulling downwards, choking him, CNN reported.

According to a sheriff's office arrest affidavit, Kelly Davis told her father during the attack, "I'll kill you, (expletive)!"

He was able to get away from his wife and daughter and escape to a neighbour's house.

Footage shows the officers arriving to find the man lying on his neighbour's porch, where he told them he'd "had better days".

"I announced to my wife last night that I wanted a divorce. About 20, 30 minutes ago, my wife and daughter — a frying pan and a knife," he said.

Deputies took Pam and Kelly Davis to the Cheatham County Jail. The two have since posted bond.
