A 33-year-old man has been arrested as police continue to investigate the death of Dunedin man Gurjit Singh.
Singh, 27, a technician with telecommunications company Chorus, was found dead outside his Hillary Street home in Dunedin on Monday, January 29, having suffered multiple stab wounds.
This morning, police revealed a 33-year-old has been arrested and charged with Singh's murder.
He will appear in the Dunedin District Court later today.
"A large team of investigators have worked extensively on this case, but there is still work to do," Detective Senior Sergeant Kallum Croudis said.
"Several vehicles, another residential property and workplaces are still part of the ongoing investigation."
Croudis thanked the community for help in the investigation, saying information and CCTV footage assisted "greatly with the investigation".
Singh’s father was currently in Dunedin, being supported by police and the local Punjabi community.
"Our thoughts remain with the family at this extremely difficult time," Croudis said.
