1 Crowd chant 'e noho' during fiery Winston Peters speech
Winston Peters has delivered a fiery speech at Waitangi, and many of those in attendance responded in kind by chanting e noho (sit down) at the Deputy Prime Minister.
The Government was welcomed onto Waitangi today, with plenty of passion on display on both sides.
Peters opened his speech by saying he was keeping it short as he had a meeting with ambassadors in a bid to advance NZ's economy and relations, prompting a smattering of boos.
He then fired up by saying there needed to be an end to the "hysteria" and "nonsense" around the Government's plans for Māori.

2 Man charged with Dunedin man Gurjit Singh’s murder
A 33-year-old man has been arrested as police continue to investigate the death of Dunedin man Gurjit Singh.
Singh, 27, a technician with telecommunications company Chorus, was found dead outside his Hillary Street home in Dunedin on Monday, January 29, having suffered multiple stab wounds.
This morning, police revealed a 33-year-old has been arrested and charged with Singh's murder. He will appear in the Dunedin District Court later today.

4 Doctor directed unqualified employee to administer Botox - HDC
A doctor has been told to take a competency review if he wants to return to work after directing a woman be given Botox by an unqualified person.
The woman suffered extensive and severe reactions to the treatment, according to a finding by the Health and Disability Commission (HDC).
The doctor has been found to have breached the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights for directing the employee to administer the Botox and also did not ensure appropriate consent was obtained.

Wales rugby great Barry John has died, at the age of 79.
The former Wales and British and Irish Lions five-eighth died peacefully in hospital, his family announced this morning.
John, nicknamed "The King" by New Zealand journalists after he inspired the Lions' famous 1971 Test series victory in the Auckland.
