Person dies following incident in Parnell

A person has died after police closed off streets during an incident in Parnell this morning.

Police said they had cordoned an area off after there were concerns for a person’s wellbeing.

A spokesperson said at the time this was an "isolated incident".

"There are no suspicious circumstances in this matter and the death will be referred to the coroner.

"Our thoughts are with those involved in today’s incident."

Cordons remain in place at intersections in the area.

Auckland Transport said that sections of York St, Bath St, Eglon St, Fox St, Earle St, and Bradford St were closed to traffic.

"Avoid this area or expect delays with diversions in place affecting all traffic, including bus services."
