Two-year-old boy 'youngest ever' to reach Everest base camp

January 29, 2024
Ross Dallas took his son Carter to Mount Everest base camp, located 5364m above sea level.

A two-year-old Scottish boy is believed to have become the youngest ever person to reach Everest's base camp.

Carter Dallas "climbed" to the site in Nepal, some 5364m above sea level.

He completed the trek on his father Ross’ back, with his mother Jade alongside.

The family of three reached the base camp on October 25 last year.

Originally hailing from Glasgow, the trio are currently embarking upon a one-year trip around Asia.

A four-year-old child from the Czech Republic is thought to have held the previous record.
