Man drags woman toward Napier park in attempted indecent assault

Police are seeking information after a man allegedly attempted to indecently assault a woman near a Napier park last night.

According to police, the woman was approached while walking her dog on the York St footpath in Greenmeadows around 9.15pm.

As she neared the intersection of York St and Westminster Ave, a man is reported to have gotten out of a vehicle, pulled the woman across the road and attempted to indecently assault her in Anderson Park.

The man was described as being 5'9 and wearing a dark coloured hoodie with the hood up.

People who saw the alleged incident take place, or have information that could assist police, are encouraged to come forward by calling 105.
