An arrest has been made in relation to the homicide investigation after a Christchurch man's death earlier this month.
Police were called after 38-year-old David Bridgwater was found dead on Aranui's Carisbrooke St at about 2.28am on January 4.
He was found on the road. Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves confirmed an "unusual noise" was what made informants call the police. A homicide investigation was launched.
A 51-year-old woman has now been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
She has appeared in the Christchurch District Court today, been remanded in custody and granted interim name suppression.
She will reappear in court next month.
Detective Senior Sergeant Colin Baillie said that police continue to make enquiries and encourage anyone with information to call 105, or make a report online referencing Operation Walter.
