Rainbows End, New Zealand’s only theme park, is gearing up for a big year ahead as it expects more than 400,000 visitors.
The summer period so far has attracted more than 100,000 visitors, with a mechanical issue on the Log Flume ride not keeping visitors away.
Chief executive officer Karen Crabb said engineers have checked and certified the ride since.
“She’s good to go.”
Rainbows End has seen many changes in the 41 years since it opened.
Crabb said the park has grown “exponentially over that time.
“We’ve had lots of different rides come and go.
"It’s been a really iconic part of New Zealand’s culture, because there are so many Kiwis out there who remember spending time at Rainbows End.”
She also added that there are several plans in motion to ensure it stays that way.
“It’s really important for us to keep it fun and entertaining. For our really regular guests, there’s something fresh and exciting to come, so watch this space.”
