A six-legged dog found abandoned in a Welsh supermarket carpark last year has had surgery to remove her extra limbs.
More than NZD$30k was raised from around the world to fund the life-changing surgery for the 11-week old spaniel, named Ariel for the extra fused limbs that resemble a mermaid's tail.

Surgeon Aaron Lutchman told the BBC all four of her working limbs had been saved after fears that one might have to be amputated.
"She's doing really well, she's bounced back and she's a happy little dog and we're hoping she's going to go on to lead a fabulous little life."
The vet who initially assessed Ariel noted that, in addition to her two extra back legs, she also had two vulvas.

Greenacres Rescue, who took in Ariel after she was found, said in a statement on its Facebook page that Ariel has to now rest for up to two weeks to recover following the surgery.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has been part of Ariel’s story and journey, every message, donation and well wishes have been very much appreciated."
