Police are warning the public to avoid a northern suburb of Palmerston North after a person was injured in a firearms incident.
A statement from police said officers were at the scene of a firearms incident at a Coromandel Court address in Roslyn, Palmerston North.
One person has been taken to hospital and police were making enquiries to establish what has occurred.
"Police have an increased presence and members of the public are asked to avoid the area," the statement said.
Police said more information wiould be released when it became available.
