Finn Allen today played one of the greatest innings ever seen in T20 international cricket, blasting 137 as the Black Caps beat Pakistan in Dunedin to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-game series.
Here's a look at all the records broken by Allen in a memorable day down south:
Most sixes in an innings
Allen blasted 16 sixes, equalling Afghanistan's Hazratullah Zazai for the most sixes in a T20 international innings.
He also set the New Zealand record, surpassing Colin Munro and Corey Anderson, who had shared the record with 10.
Highest individual score
Allen's 137 was the highest ever score by a Black Cap in T20 internationals, surpassing Brendon McCullum, who held the record with 123 against Bangladesh in 2012.
It is also the equal-fifth highest score by anyone in international cricket. Australia's Aaron Finch holds the record with 172, scored against Zimbabwe in 2018.
Highest career strike rate
Following his 62-ball flurry where he scored at a strike rate of 221, Allen moved past Jimmy Neesham to have the highest career strike rate by a Black Cap in T20 internationals.
His career strike rate of 165 is also the third best among players from tier one nations, trailing only India's Suryakumar Yadav (171) and England's Phil Salt (166).
Most runs in a series
Allen now has the most runs by a Black Cap through three games in a T20 series with 245. Along with his 137 today, he scored 34 and 74 in the first two games of the series.
Mark Chapman holds the record for the most runs by a Black Cap in a T20 series, with 290 in a five-game series against Pakistan last year.
Highest team score
New Zealand's 224/7 set the record for the highest T20 total in Dunedin, surpassing the 219/7 scored against Australia in 2021.
It is also the seventh highest score by New Zealand in T20 internationals. The 226/8 in the first game of the series is also their fifth highest total. Their highest total remains 254/5 against Scotland in 2022.
Winning streak
New Zealand have now won four straight T20s against Pakistan, dating back to last April. This equals the longest winning streak the Black Caps have had against Pakistan in the game's shortest format. The Black Caps also won four straight games against Pakistan between 2016 and 2018.
