After spending much of 2023 tied up in strike action, Hollywood’s best and brightest returned to the awards season red carpet with a bang at the Golden Globes today.
But who stood out in the fashion stakes?
Here are our completely subjective top five picks.
Julia Garner
The Ozark star smashed it out of the park with some floor-length sequins and the most plunging of necklines from Gucci.
Sure, your uncle would probably say she looks like she’s put the dress on backwards, but what does anyone’s uncle know about floor-length silver sequins from Gucci?
Issa Rae

Actor and producer Issa Rae really leaned into the golden part of the Golden Globes with this dazzling long-sleeved number by Pamella Roland.
I heard somebody describe her look as "sexy Transformer". I still don’t know if that’s an insult or not but I very much would like to bring this kind of sexy Transformer energy with me through 2024.
Barry Keoghan

In a sea of black suits, Saltburn star Barry Keoghan stood out with this red ensemble from Louis Vuitton.
Keoghan’s stylist, Ilaria Urbinati, earlier told Vogue she believed in "aggressive styling" and she was not kidding. Keoghan’s printed suit was paired with a pearl necklace, pearl earrings and a gold belt chain.
"There was a moment when I thought 'should we take one thing off?'. But then I thought, 'Nah, we’re going for it'," Urbinati said.
Meryl Streep
Speaking of black suits however, Hollywood icon Meryl Streep looked simply stunning in hers.
She took the black suit and white shirt combo to the next level with this sparkly Valentino skirt suit.
Miranda Priestly would absolutely approve.
Margot Robbie

Barbie star Margot Robbie really committed to the bit for the Golden Globes, wearing a bright pink Giorgio Armani Privé gown and tulle boa that was a replica of a dress worn by SuperStar Barbie in 1977.
The Australian actor simply looked like a million bucks – helped by the $US3 million worth of pink and white diamonds she accessorised with.
