Halle Bailey has given birth to her first child.
The 23-year-old Little Mermaid star announced the birth of a baby boy with boyfriend and YouTube creator Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr (known professionally as DDG) in an Instagram post.
Bailey shared a photo of the baby's hand, which features a little gold bracelet that reads "Halo".
"Even though we're a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son... welcome to the world my halo," Bailey wrote in the caption, adding "the world is desperate to know you".
Her longtime boyfriend DDG also shared the news on his Instagram account, with a similar photo of the baby's hand.
"My biggest blessing by far. Never been so in love... baby Halo," he wrote in the caption.
The news comes after months of fan speculation that the couple was expecting.
DDG posted an ultrasound photo on social media in April, alongside the words, "Can't wait to be your dad." But fans assumed the post was a prank, given that he shared it on April Fools' Day.
In November, Bailey responded to a fan on Snapchat who said she had "pregnancy nose".
"Listen, if I see one more person say something about my nose one more time, it's going to be hell to pay," Bailey shared in a video.
"I just also wanna say I'm so very grateful for my real supporters who are respectful of women's bodies and loving," Bailey also shared on Instagram in December.
"Being under a microscope is not easy but for the real ones who show unconditional love religiously, I appreciate you."
Bailey and DDG went public with their relationship in March 2022.
