A police officer received minor injuries after being hit by a bottle amid reports of intoxication, disorder and assault involving suspected gang members outside the Juicy Fest music festival in Wellington yesterday.
Police said that the 15,000-strong crowd at Hutt Park on Friday was "largely well-behaved."
Six people were arrested for fighting and disorderly behaviour at the event, billed as the biggest hip-hop and R&B festival in the Southern Hemisphere.
Outside the venue, police dealt with "several incidents".
"Police had a strong presence to address any issues," a spokesperson said.
"Officers dealt with several reports of intoxication, disorder, and assault involving people outside the event, including suspected gang members, and one police officer suffered minor injuries after being hit with a bottle, leading to the arrest of one man."
Headlining acts at Juicy Fest this year include Keri Hilson, T.I, T-Pain, Mario, Trey Songaz, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Ashanti, Mase, The Game, Fabolous and YG.
Following shows in Christchurch on Wednesday and Wellington on Friday, the line-up returns to the stage in Auckland today and Tauranga tomorrow.
