David Warner has been dismissed for 34 in what could be his final Test match innings for Australia.
The 37-year-old was caught at slip of the bowling of spinner Agha Salman, and was visibly upset at himself as he left the field.
The Sydney Cricket Ground crowd groaned then fell silent when Warner was dismissed, before rising to give the departing star a standing ovation.
Warner had earlier been gifted a life in the opening session on day 2, thanks to some more poor fielding that has plagued Pakistan all series.
Having narrowly survived being bowled in the first over late last night, Warner rode his luck again, being dropped at slip while on 20.
It was a simple chance to debutant Saim Ayub off the bowling of Aamer Jamal. Angled across Warner, the ball kissed the edge of his bat and went straight to Ayub at first slip at waist height. But the regulation chance went in and out of his hands, much to Jamal's dismay. The SCG crowd clapped as they realised their hometown hero had been given a big let-off.
