Porirua road, part of SH58, closed after motorcycle crash

One person has been seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on State Highway 58 in Porirua earlier tonight.

Paremata Road in Whitby is closed between James Cook Drive and Spinnaker Drive while emergency services respond to a serious crash, police said.

"The crash involving a single motorcycle was reported at 6.30pm.

"One person was seriously injured and transported to hospital.

"Diversions are in place, motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays."
