A woman was airlifted to hospital yesterday afternoon after miraculously surviving a 30-meter fall onto rocks on Auckland's Waiheke Island.
The woman, in her 20s, had been exploring the coastline on Matiatia Bay when the incident took place, Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust said.
At around 1.45pm, she slipped, falling 30 meters onto some rocks below.
She was brought to a Westpac rescue helicopter by a police boat, and flown to Auckland City Hospital in a moderate condition.
