Shoppers at Westfield Newmarket were asked to evacuate the mall today during the Boxing Day rush.
A video sent to 1News shows shoppers exiting the mall calmly with an alarm ringing in the background.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand told 1News the evacuation was prompted by a fog cannon being sent off accidentally at about 11.11am.
"On arrival, they investigated and found a fog cannon had been set off, but have since determined it was a false alarm."
The alarm put a stop to the frantic shopping for about 10 minutes.
It comes as bargain hunters head to shopping malls across the country in time for Boxing Day sales.
