Five fire trucks were at the scene to help tackle a house fire in the Auckland suburb of Lynfield this afternoon.
Around 20 firefighters were called to the home, according to the New Zealand Herald.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) spokesperson told 1News they received multiple calls about the blaze.
FENZ said the fire has now been extinguished, with firefighters now trying to salvage what they can.
The daughter of the homeowners said on Facebook that the family are "all okay" following the Christmas Day blaze.

"We're all safe. Everyone got out fairly quickly."
Another local said they "have ash falling at our house".
It comes after a fire in Matakana burned through 37 hectares of scrub and pine slash.
