After 30 years, Marton's greatest Christmas show is shutting up shop after its founder received a heartbreaking diagnosis.

Granny's Christmas Grotto was started by Jenny Greener in her home but was soon forced to expand.

Every year, people would travel far and wide to see one of Marton's empty stores transformed into a Christmas wonderland.

That was until four years ago, when Greener bought her own building and turned it into a year-round grotto.

The grotto has almost every Christmas scene in every size imaginable – and covered in swathes of lights and baubles.

But now she's been forced to sell her prized collection after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

"I could be here for years yet, but I might not be," she said.

While it may be her last Christmas show, Greener is determined to go out on a high.

"All my life, my motto has been 'believe in the magic of Christmas'."

One local said Greener has "left such a legacy" in the hearts of the locals.

"I think the memory of Granny’s Christmas Grotto will live on for a really long time," she said.
