A person has died in a Bay of Plenty crash and another person is dead after a crash which saw a section of State Highway 25 closed in Waikato today.
The Bay of Plenty crash was reported just before 1.30pm on Whakamaru Road.
One person died and another person with serious injuries was taken to hospital.
Motorists are expected to see delays, and the Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
Another person has died in a crash involving a car and a motorcycle which has left State Highway 25 closed between Hikuai and Whangamatā.
Police said the crash was reported at 12.45pm, about 3 kilometres south-east of the SH25A turnoff on SH25.
This is the third death this holiday period, which runs from 4pm on Friday December 22 and ends at 6am on Wednesday January 3, 2024.
Another crash occurred earlier today, at 10.37am.
Waikato Expressway SH1 is partially blocked near Matangi Bridge after a "single-vehicle incident", resulting in injuries.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
