Motorcyclist dies after South Taranaki crash

One person has died following a motorcycle crash in Taranaki this morning.

The crash was reported to police at around 6.20am on South Rd, Warea, in South Taranaki.

Motorists are advised to take an alternative route as the southbound lane remains closed.

The serious crash unit is at the scene and the circumstances of the crash are under investigation.

The crash occurred on State Highway 2 at Waiotahe, near Ōpōtiki, around 8.30pm.
