Highway closed after crash leaves motorcyclist in critical condition

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash on the Kaipara Coast Highway, north of Auckland this afternoon.

The crash was reported to police at around 12.25pm and State Highway 16 has been closed in both directions.

Motorists are advised to expect delays, while diversions are in place.

The serious crash unit has been notified.
