German Shepherd comes through crash unscathed, police seek owner

Police are seeking the owner of a German Shepherd that survived a car crash near Auckland's Manukau Heads this morning.

The crash occurred on Āwhitu Rd, near Pollok north of Waiuku, at around 4.42am today.

The vehicle had rolled off the road and the German Shepherd was found hanging around the car, with the driver unaccounted for.

The dog was checked and found to have come through the crash unscathed.

Police took the dog back to Pukekohe Police station before dropping it off at Manukau Animal Shelter while they search for the driver of the vehicle.
