A crash involving a pedestrian and a child saw part of a major road on Auckland's North Shore closed in both directions for a period this morning.
The crash on Onewa Rd in Northcote was reported to police around 8.25am.
"Initial indications suggest the pedestrian has received critical injuries," a police spokesperson said.
A later update from police said the victim was a child.
"We thank motorists for their patience while emergency services responded to the incident."

The serious crash unit is investigating. The road is back open.
