Will Young admits he "didn't quite know what happened" when he pulled off what will go down as one of the catches of the summer during New Zealand's ODI win over Bangladesh yesterday.
Fresh off scoring a century in the first innings as New Zealand posted 239 from their 30 overs, the home side were well on their way to victory in Dunedin when Shoriful Islam skied the ball towards deep square leg.
Moving backwards, Young jumped into the air and caught the ball one-handed, managing to avoid the boundary rope in the process.
"I didn't quite know what happened there," Young said after the match, having deservedly been named man of the match.

"It went really high, then as it was coming down, it kept going away from me. I stuck [a] hand out, and somehow it stuck in my hand.
"It was good to get the wicket for Milney (Adam Milne). He looked pretty shocked on the replay."
The dismissal helped New Zealand to a comfortable 44-run win.
However, they will be without paceman Kyle Jamieson for the rest of the ODI series as he manages stiffness in his hamstring.

He missed yesterday's win and has now been ruled out of the matches in Nelson and Napier.
"There's a lot of cricket ahead of us and we want to make sure Kyle's in the best place possible without taking any unnecessary risks," coach Gary Stead said.
